Before you begin

 

•   You must be a Global Administrator in M365 to do the steps in this article.

•   If you're a partner who's an admin on behalf (AOBO) of a customer, you must sign in to the customer's organization with an admin account created in the organization.

•   If there are multiple billing accounts, you must select the account that the product was purchased on. Example: 
 

    1. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to "Billing" and then "Your products" page:

    2. Locate and select the product for which you want to either get the license key or download link.
 

Important

*Microsoft recently added a new tab to this interface. As shown in the bellow screenshot, there is a “Software Products” tab available.
It is planned to move perpetual licenses to this tab, but this change is currently in rollout. As of May 07, 2026, this change is not completed yet.
Microsoft didn’t confirm a deployment date so if you do not see your perpetual licences in the “Products” tab you may verify the “Software Products” tab as well.

 

    3. On the product details page, in the "Downloads and keys" section, choose the Product version, the Language, and the CPU & file type, then select "Download" to download the installer.

 

   4. To download the key when required, select "Show activation keys". Then from the right side window, select "Copy key to clipboard". Paste the key in a text file or a note app in a secure location and enter it as instructed during the software installation. The key is needed to activate the downloaded software.
