How to activate Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) on SharePoint sites (SharePoint 2013)

Synopsis

A SSL certificate is installed on a SharePoint site for extra security. It carries an extra yearly fee but encrypts the communication in its entirety.

Prerequisite

You must have a Sherweb hosted SharePoint 2013 site

You must be the account owner
