Synopsis
Why we have a daily email limit.
Applicable to
All Sherweb hosted Exchange accounts.
Explanation
As a provider of hosted Exchange business email services, Sherweb must limit to 1,000 the number of emails sent by a single user in a 24-hour period of time.
It is important to understand that this limit was set to protect your organization as well as all of our customers worldwide. Sherweb, by imposing this daily limit to its users, complies with its providers’ requirements to not only help maintain a high-quality, reliable service, but also avoid a suspension of the activity on our network.
Our email service providers use protection systems that limit the number of messages that can be sent from one provider to another. As a result, when a massive number of emails are sent by a user in a short period of time, the provider through which these messages were sent suspends our service. This impacts all of Sherweb’s worldwide customers using this particular provider as these customers also have their email service suspended.
In short, we ask users to be mindful of other users when sending a large number of messages as the repercussions of bulk emails can be important for many customers.
It should also be noted that hosted Exchange is a business email and collaboration application to be used by employees within an organization; it is not meant for bulk emails or mass marketing campaigns. There are a variety of solutions designed specifically for that purpose; should you wish to send mass emails, we recommend that you use an email service that allows you to do so.
