Situation
You are needing to restore a user's OneDrive files from a specified date.
Prerequisites
These are the requirements to be able to restore a user's OneDrive.
- One of the following Dropsuite accesses:
- Full Admin
- IT Admin
- Group Supervisor (only for users within the groups they are an admin of)
- User view and Restore (This will only work for their own content)
- User (This will only work for their own content)
Restoring OneDrive
Below is how to restore a user's OneDrive from the backup dashboard by specifying a date that is needed to backup from.
- Login to the Dropsuite platform using the proper access level.
- Select the OneDrive tab on the dashboard.
- Locate the user that needs their OneDrive restored and hover over their name selecting "Restore".
- First, select a date to restore from.
- Next you will need to select the destination to restore the files to. There will be 2 options.
- Original Account: This will restore the files back to the original user's OneDrive account.
- Other Account: Select this option if you would like to restore the files to another backed up user's OneDrive.
- Original Account: This will restore the files back to the original user's OneDrive account.
- In the next section you will need to select the restore method. There will be 2 options here as well.
- Keep Folder Structure: This will maintain the folder structure from the latest backup.
- Create New Folder: For this option you will need to specify a name and whether you would like to maintain the folder structure or not.
- Keep Folder Structure: This will maintain the folder structure from the latest backup.
- The last option section in this screen is the "Advance Option" section. Here you will be able to select an option for if there happens to be duplicates of the files being restored.
- Next, read the disclaimer and select "Start Restore".
- In the next window you will be able to review the user and the date you have decided to restore from. You can now select "Yes, Continue".
- Once you have done this, select the system status tab and then "Restores".
- Next, select the OneDrive Tab.
- Once on this page, you will be able to verify the status of the Restore you have just completed for the user's OneDrive content.
