Situation

You are needing to restore a SharePoint site, or one of it's Sub-Sites


Prerequisites

These are the requirements to be able to restore SharePoint sites.

  • One of the following Dropsuite accesses:
    • Full Admin
    • IT Admin

Restoring SharePoint Sites

This is how to restore a SharePoint site, as well as how to restore Sub-Sites.

Main Sites

  1. Login to the Dropsuite platform using the proper access level.

  2. Next, select the "SharePoint" tab.

  3. Find the SharePoint site in question, and hover over it selecting "Restore".

  4. First, select both the date and time you would like to restore the SharePoint site from.

  5. Next, read the disclaimer and then select "Start Restore".

  6. In the next window, confirm the date and time and the site you will be restoring and then select "Yes, Continue".

  7. Next, on the SYSTEM STATUS tab, select "Restores".

  8. Next, select the "SharePoint" tab.

  9. You will then be able to view the status and details of the restore you just did for the SharePoint Site.

Sub-Sites

  1. On the backup dashboard, select the "SharePoint" tab.

  2. Select the name of the SharePoint site that includes the Sub-Site that's needed to restore.

  3. Locate the Sub-Site that's needed to restore, and hover over it selecting "Restore".

  4. In the first section, select the date and time you would like to restore the sub-site for.

  5. In the second section, you will need to select the destination you would like to restore the sub-site to.
    1. Original Site: This would be the site it was initially backed up from.
    2. Other Site: You can select this option if you would like to specify another site to restore the site content to.


  6. Next in the third section, you will need to select 1 of 2 options for the restore method.
    1. Keep Folder Structure: This will maintain the path and folder structure from the most recent backup of the site.
    2. Restore To New Folder: If you select this option you will need to specify a new folder name, as well as if you would like to keep the folder structure or not.

  7. The next optional step is to click "Advance Option" where you can select what will happen is a duplicate file is being restored and there is a conflict.

  8. Next, read the disclaimer and select "Start Restore".

  9. In the next window, confirm the date and time, as well as the site you will be restoring and select "Yes, Continue".


  10. Next, select the SYSTEM STATUS tab, and then "Restores".

  11. On the next page, select "SharePoint".

  12. On this page you will be able to verify the status of the SharePoint sub-site restore you just completed.
