Performance Cloud VMware (NSX-T) - Unsupported Scenarios

 

Here is a list of features & scenarios that are currently not supported with Performance Cloud VMware (NSX-T).
 

 

  • Raw Device Mapping (RDM) or LUN Passthrough to directly connect to the SAN
      
  • Shared Volumes / Shared Disks
      
  • Port span / Port mirror *
      
  • Promiscuous mode
     
  • Backup of named disks
     
  • GPU-accelerated virtual machines (or vGPU)
     
  • Create a VM snapshot when a named disk is attached
     
  • Create snapshots or add RAM to virtual machines when all disk storage is used (per the quota-based design)
     
  • Reverse incremental backup and forever forward incremental backup methods

  • Use a Fully Qualified Domain Name ("FQDN") in Site-to-Site VPN tunnel configuration (using the Edge Gateway**)

  • Applications with more than one (1) port cannot be used for NAT configuration (using the Edge Gateway**)

  • Have more than ten (10) network cards connected to virtual machines

  • Backup of Always On Availability Groups based on SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances
