Description

To connect to the backup infrastructure using Veeam Explorers, it is mandatory to update them after a setup of a Veeam Backup & Replication server.

It is also strongly recommended to frequently update Veeam Explorers to get new features and bug fixes, specially after Sherweb has performed upgrades on the infrastructure.

Requirements

- Have a Veeam Backup & Replication server deployed. If you don’t have a Veeam Backup & Replication server in place yet, please follow this article for guidance.

Procedure

1. Connect to your backup server.
   
   
    

2. Download the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 ISO file on the backup server.
   
   You can use the following link: https://download2.veeam.com/VBO/v8/VeeamBackupMicrosoft365_8.1.1.159_20250328.iso
   
   
    

3. Once the ISO file download is completed, mount the ISO file.
   
   
   
   
    

4. Then, launch the Veeam Setup
   
   
   
    
5. Click on Install
   
   
   
   
    

6. Click on Install Veeam Explorers
   
   
   
   Note: If "Install Veeam Explorers" is not showing, this means Veeam Explorers are already up to date.
   
   
    

7. Click on I Accept
   
   
   
    
8. On the next screen, click on Next. You can ignore the warning for system requirements to deploy Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 as we only deploy Veeam Explorers.
   
   
   
    

9. Then, click on Install
   
    

    

   
    

10. Wait for the install to complete
    
    
    
    
     
11. Finally, click on Finish
    
    
    
     

You have now successfully upgraded Veeam Explorers.
