  What is a Domain Transfer

A domain transfer is the process of moving your domain registration from our registrar to another registrar of your choice. Your website and email may continue to run during the process if DNS is not changed.

 Steps to Transfer Your Domain

1. Unlock the domain

Log in to your account with us. (https://client.sherweb.com/)

Go to Domains → Manage Domains → Manage Domain Locking → disable domain lock → Click on Apply.

2. Obtain the authorization (EPP) code

You must contact Cloud support team (cloudsupport@sherweb.com) for this.

Sometimes called transfer code or auth code.

3. Verify your contact details

Make sure the admin email for the domain is current.

You can check this from your portal. Domains → Manage Domains → Manage registry contact

Transfer code (EPP Code) emails go to this contact email address.

4. Initiate transfer with new registrar

Provide them with your domain name and the EPP code.

Pay their transfer fee (often includes 1-year renewal).

5. Approve transfer request

You’ll get an email from your current registrar to approve.

Transfers typically complete within 5–7 days.

 Important Notes

• DNS settings: If you use our DNS services, update the new registrar with our nameservers or need to copy the DNS records to external DNS provider before transfer to avoid downtime.

• Expiry: Transfers usually extend your domain by 1 year, but don’t wait until the last few days before expiry.

 Support

If you have issues:
