What Is the CyberMSP Community?
The CyberMSP Community is a dedicated space for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to connect, collaborate, and grow their cybersecurity expertise. It’s a vendor‑neutral environment designed to support peer-to-peer learning, strengthen security culture, and share actionable threat intelligence—all in a welcoming, private Microsoft Teams experience. Best Practices for Participation
Do:
Engage with fellow MSPs and enjoy the conversation.
Ask questions, share real-world experiences, and help others grow.
Communicate respectfully and constructively.
Provide helpful, relevant feedback.

Don't:
Advertise, sell, or promote services.
Share confidential or sensitive client information.
Post offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
How to Join the Community
Step 1: Register
Fill out the CyberMSP Community registration form.
Step 2: Accept the Invitation
Once approved, you’ll receive an invitation to join the Microsoft Teams-based community.
Step 3: Set Up Access
Follow the instructions in the welcome email to log in and configure multi-factor authentication.
Step 4: Set Up Channel Notification
To stay in the loop, we recommend enabling notifications. Here’s how:
To enable notifications for a specific channel:
1. Next to the channel name, select ... (More options)
2. Click the 🔔 Channel notification
3. Set your preferences for:
- All new posts
Channel mentions
4. Click Save when finished
To enable notifications for all channels:
1. At the top of your chat list, select ... (More list options)
2. Go to ⚙️ Customize view > 🔔 Notifications and activity > Chats and channels
3. Set your preferences for:
- Chat message notifications
- @Mentions
- Replies to my posts
- Likes and reactions
Posts in all shown channels
4. Click Save when finished
Tip: Choose Banner and Feed for device and activity section alerts, or Only Show in Feed for quieter updates
Recommended Setup for New Members: Enable notifications for Community Announcements and Threat Intelligence Feed channels.
Step 5: Show & Pin Channels
By default, some channels may be hidden in Teams. Use these steps to keep your CyberMSP Community workspace clean and high signal.
On Desktop & Web
To show a hidden channel:
1. Open the CyberMSP Community team.
2. Select See all channels under the team's name.
3. Hover the channel → Show.
To pin a channel:
1. Right-click the channel.
2. Click Show in → Favorites.
On Mobile (iOS/Android)
To show a hidden channel:
1. Tap Teams → CyberMSP Community.
2. Tap See all channels.
3. Select desired channel.
Pin a channel:
1. Tap channel → …
2. Click Show in → Favorites.

Pin: Community Lounge, Admin Alerts, Resource Hub
Step 6: Review the Welcome Channel
Visit Welcome & Onboarding to introduce yourself and learn how the community works.

Once you've joined:
1. Review the About and Guidelines channel to understand expectations and community guidelines.
2. Explore our free community tools and resources in the Resource Hub channel.
3. Explore the other channels and start engaging with fellow MSPs.

Here’s what you can expect in each channel:
Welcome and Onboarding
Start here to get oriented. Learn how the community works and introduce yourself in this channel. Members can ask onboarding questions, share quick tips, and get support as they get settled.
About & Guidelines
Your reference hub for participation rules, codes of conduct, and community expectations. This channel provides clarity on how to engage in the community. Members may reply with questions or clarification but cannot publish new posts in this channel.
Admin Alerts
Post and stay informed about urgent issues affecting system administrators. This channel highlights critical patches, high‑impact advisories, and time‑sensitive updates.
Community Announcements
Official updates from the CyberMSP Community team. This channel is used to share important news such as upcoming events, platform changes, fixes, community improvements, major updates, and noteworthy initiatives. Members can comment through replies, but only owners create new announcement posts to maintain clarity.
Community Lounge - Open Discussions
A friendly space for open conversation. Ask questions, share insights, network with peers, and enjoy community‑friendly memes. This is the social center of the CyberMSP Community.
Feedback and Suggestions
Share ideas and help shape the future of the CyberMSP Community. Use this channel to propose improvements, request features, and provide constructive feedback.
Resource Hub
Share and discover training resources, certification study tips, courses, podcasts, blogs, events, tools, guides, and other educational content. Perfect for members who want to grow their cybersecurity skills. To access shared files, open the Resource Hub channel in Teams and select the Shared tab → All documents.
MSP News and Updates
Post and read timely MSP‑focused news, industry announcements, analysis, and professional insights that help members stay informed about what is happening in the MSP ecosystem.
Threat Intelligence Feed
A curated, high‑signal feed of emerging threats, advisories, CVEs, and relevant security alerts. This channel keeps MSPs up to date with the most important threat intelligence.
