How to configure a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record (Exchange 2016).

Prerequisite

You must have a Sherweb 2016 hosted Exchange account

How to

The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is a technical method to prevent sender address forgery.

Note : this configuration has to be done on your PUBLIC DNS server, which might be managed by a hosting provider.


Make sure you transmit the correct information to be added:

  • Type of record: TXT
  • Hostname: Leave the entry blank
    • In some instances, you may need to put @ instead of leaving it blank
  • Value: v=spf1 ip4:207.126.101.0/24 -all
