How to manage vApp snapshots with Performance Cloud VMware (NSX-T)

Description

By creating a snapshot of a vApp, it creates a snapshot for all the virtual machines in the vApp. After the creation of snapshots, you can revert all virtual machines in the vApp to the most recent snapshot or remove all snapshots.

Procedures

Create a vApp snapshot

 

  1. Login to the Performance Cloud VMware portal using your credentials.
     
  2. Click on your virtual data center



  3. Go into the vApps section under Compute and identify the desired vApp from the list. Note that the vApp contains two (2) virtual machines in the example below.



  4. Click on ACTIONS, then go to Snapshot, then click on Create Snapshot



  5. Name the snapshot and click on CREATE.



    Snapshots for all virtual machines in the vApp are now creating at once.


     

Remove vApp snapshots

 

  1. Login to the Performance Cloud VMware portal using your credentials.
     
  2. Click on your virtual data center



  3. Go into the vApps section under Compute and identify the desired vApp from the list. Note that the vApp contains two (2) virtual machines in the example below.



  4. Click on ACTIONS, then go to Snapshot, then click on Remove All



  5. Click on REMOVE to confirm.



    Snapshots are now removed for all virtual machines in the vApp.

     

 

Revert a vApp snapshot

 

  1. Login to the Performance Cloud VMware portal using your credentials.
     
  2. Click on your virtual data center



  3. Go into the vApps section under Compute and identify the desired vApp from the list. Note that the vApp contains two (2) virtual machines in the example below.



  4. Click on ACTIONS, then go to Snapshot, then click on Revert to Current



  5. Click on REVERT to confirm the task.



    All virtual machines in the vApp are now reverted to the state when taking the snapshot.
