When Office Protect misses some permissions to access Exchange audit logs, the Office Protect setup can result in an error.
How to remediate the situation:
- Access Exchange admin portal
- Click on Roles > Admin roles > Organization Management > Permissions
- Make sure the following roles are selected:
- Audit Logs
- View-Only Configuration
- View-Only Audit Logs
- View-Only Recipients
- Security Admin
- Compliance Admin
- Distribution Groups
- Organization Transport Settings
- Click Save
When permissions have been changed, go back to Office Protect and click on "Resume".
