Migration from the legacy Veeam Cloud Connect Replication (VCC-R) to the Disaster Recovery solution (DRaaS) for Broadcom (VMware) with Veeam

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Description

The previous Veeam Cloud Connect Replication offer from Sherweb has now reached its end of life.

However, the technology that Veeam is offering for a disaster recovery for on-premises VMware environments is still accurate.

Sherweb is still leveraging that Veeam Cloud Connect technology. You can now setup your disaster recovery by using our Performance Cloud VMware infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform as the destination of your replicated environment and using Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC) for the central management of your Veeam services and licenses.

New features

  • Same portal to access your disaster recovery environment as our Performance Cloud VMware infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform.

  • Same functionalities to manage and setup your disaster recovery environment as our Performance Cloud VMware infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform. Including an easier deployment of a Network Virtual Appliance (NVA) for your disaster recovery environment through the Performance Cloud VMware portal (when required).

  • You can choose to replicate between two (2) different storage policies in Performance Cloud VMware: Premium SSD or Standard HDD.

  • Same billing model for your disaster recovery environment as our Performance Cloud VMware infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform.

Only pay for resources you enable in your Cumulus account management portal. Add or increase CPU, RAM, storage or backup add-ons when needed (for test failovers for example). Also, reduce or remove them when resources are not needed (when test failovers are completed for example).

  • The Veeam Backup & Replication server can now be monitored and licensed in Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC).
