Windows Agents only - Steps to be completed by Tenant following reception of the first email
Description
Those are the steps to complete once you have received the first email to create new backups on your newly provisioned Cloud repository if you only have Veeam Agents connecting to our Veeam Cloud Connect service.
Note: For Partners with multiple Tenants using Veeam Agents, this procedure must be completed for each of them.
Requirements
Veeam Backup & Replication v12.x and later running on the SP backup server is compatible with the following versions of Veeam products running on the tenant side:
- Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 6.0 and later
- Veeam Agent for Linux 6.0 and later
- Veeam Agent for Mac 2.0 and later
Procedure
- Create a new Backup job
- From the Windows menu, under the Veeam folder, select Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows.
- Click the hamburger menu in top left corner and select [+ Add New Job…]
- During the job configuration steps, select Veeam Cloud Connect repository for Destination
- Provide the DNS name: vcccan01.yourclodservers.com or gw.ca.vspc-cloud.com (Both DNS records point to the same VCC instance).
- Provide your VCC credentials. The username will be your tenant’s name.
*If required, we can reset that password for you - Select the newly provisioned repository “CAE2-SOBR-01” as Backup Resources and set the desired retention.
- Complete the configuration steps as you require.
- From the Windows menu, under the Veeam folder, select Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows.
- Disable the original backup job
- Back in the Agent’s console, from the hamburger menu, select your original job and select Edit job.
- In the Schedule section of the job configuration steps, uncheck the Run the job automatically box and complete the configuration steps.
- Back in the Agent’s console, from the hamburger menu, select your original job and select Edit job.
This completes the steps required following the first email you received from us.
Don’t forget to send us the required information sent in that email.
For Agents, we only need the following information:
1. Is your Veeam Agent at the minimum supported version (6.0) or higher?
2. How many backups do you have in total? What are their names? What is the retention of each of them?
3. When were the new backups to the new cloud repository directory created?
As mentioned in the email, a second one will be sent once the old data has been deleted or migrated. Included, will be a new set of instructions to complete the process.
