Windows Agents only - Steps to be completed by Tenant to map the original backup chain.

This procedure applies only for 30 days or more retention scenario that required your old backup chain to be migrated onto your new Cloud repository by us and you are using Veeam Agents connecting to our Veeam Cloud Connect service.

Those are the steps to complete once you have received the second email to map your old Backup chain that was moved to your new Cloud repository.

Note: For Partners with multiple Tenants, this procedure must be completed for each of them.

Procedure

1. Remap the migrated backup chain to your old backup job
   • In your Veeam Agent console, select the hamburger menu, then select your original backup job and then select Edit job.
     
     
     
     
     
   • Browse through the options until you are in Backup Resources.
     
     
     
     
     
   • At this point, you will see two (2) repositories.
     Select the new repository named CAE2-SOBR-01 and click Map backup.
     
     
     
     
     
   • Expand the backup repository, select the old job and click OK.
     
     
     
     
     
   • Browse through the remaining configurations and complete the configuration process.

At this point, you now have both backup chains on your new Cloud repository.

The old job will gradually reduce in size as the retention policy applies itself. This will ensure you have the desired retention between the old and the new backup chain.

Once the retention is met on the original job, simply remove it from the Veeam Agent’s console.

2. Let us know your backup job is mapped

• Please reply to us to let us know your old job is now mapped to the backup chain we moved for you.
• Once we receive this confirmation, we will proceed in removing your old Cloud repository from your tenant's configuration.

This concludes the migration process for you.
