This guide explains the 911 limitations of VoIP compared to a traditional phone service

You must be a Sherweb VoIP Cloud Services user.
How to
911 emergency services over VoIP has certain limitations compared to traditional phone service. With traditional phone services, your 911 call is sent directly to the nearest emergency response center. With VoIP Services, your 911 call is forwarded to a third-party service provider that will automatically or manually route your call to the appropriate emergency response center.
